You never know what to expect at the Oscars, especially after last year’s Best Actor Winner for "King Richardand the slap heard around the world. But let's talk about sports movies the Academy loved.
 

“Ford vs. Ferrari” (2019) The movie about the 24-hour Le Mans race pitted Christian Bale as Ken Miles and Matt Damon as Carroll Shelby against each other. The movie was nominated for four Academy Awards that included Best Picture, and took home two trophies for Best Film Editing and Best Sound Editing. Arguably one of the best racing movies ever, the movie lost to “Parasite” for Best Picture. No racing-themed film has ever won Best Picture.
